Women play a huge part in all facets of Fourpure Brewing’s business, so we want to introduce to you the Brewers, Charlotte and Sara, Off Trade Channel Controller, Nicole, and Brand Manager, Grace.

【 How did you get into the world of beer? 】
格蕾丝: 我当时还是个没有工作的毕业生，我需要一份工作。我加入了一家啤酒酒吧，然后从那里开始做市场营销。
G: I was an unemployed grad student and I needed a job. Fell into a beer bar, and then fell into marketing from there.
妮可: 我一直很喜欢精酿啤酒，并被这个行业的包容和友好所吸引。但根据我在非即饮超市的工作经验来看，在我们的啤酒产品进入超市之前，需要等待一段时间。一旦超市引进我们的啤酒，我就会抓住机会在非即饮渠道打造好我们的啤酒系列品牌。
N: I have always enjoyed craft beer & was drawn to the inclusive & friendly aspect of the industry. But with my off trade supermarket experience I had to wait until the supermarkets were ready to introduce the category. As soon as that happened I jumped at the opportunity to help build the category in the off trade.

S: My first job in beer was working as a waitress in a brewery, where I'd talk to the brewers and spend as much time with them as possible to learn everything I could. I then did a stint with a brewery in Costa Rica learning from an American brewer about both brewing and sustainability within the industry. I joined Fourpure shortly after, initially as an assistant brewer.
夏洛特: 我之前在并没有你们想象得那样光鲜的电视行业工作，每天和“电视名人”还有“家庭大改造”节目组打交道。在节目收视下跌后，我离开了电视行业，开始做包装/酿酒厂助理的工作。
C: I worked in the (not so) glamorous world of TV. Spent my time between Z list celebs and home makeovers! When trash telly took its toll, I started in a packaging/brewery assistant job and went from there.

【 The craft beer industry is quite self-aware of the fact it is male dominated. What does it mean to be a woman in this industry? And do you feel there is a shift in the prominence of women in craft beer? 】
妮可: 我觉得我们身处精酿啤酒行业的十字路口，在这里，女性开始崭露头角，并因她们所做出的贡献而得到认可。请不要误解我的意思，我们还有很长的路要走，但是随着像Mothership这样倡导女性主义的精酿啤酒品牌愈发受到人们青睐，情况只会越来越好！
N: I feel like we are at a cross section in the craft beer industry where women are starting to make their mark and be recognised for the part they play. Don’t get me wrong there is still a long way to go but with the likes of brands like Mothership, championing women in craft beer, it can only get better.夏洛特: 精酿啤酒行业的女性越来越多，尤其是在酿造方面，这真是太棒了——看到越来越多的女性首席酿酒师，真是令人振奋。作为一名女性，我喜欢在这个行业工作，我认为大多数精酿啤酒厂正朝着正确的方向发展，挑战传统上存在于啤酒行业的刻板印象。C: It’s awesome that there are a growing number of women in craft beer, particularly on the brewing side - it’s pretty inspiring to see more female head brewers. As a woman, I love working in the industry and I think most craft breweries are going in the right direction to challenge stereotypes that traditionally existed in the beer industry.
萨拉: 我认为重要的是我们要继续互相鼓励，不要用性别、年龄或取向来评判任何人。不管是在精酿啤机行业还是其他行业都应当如此。我是不会让性别阻碍我的成功之路，我希望通过努力工作和奉献精神向我的酿酒伙伴们证明这一点。
S: I think what is important is that we continue to encourage each other and not to judge anyone on their gender, age, or orientation. To me being in this industry or any is just that. I won't let my gender get in the way of my success and hope that through hard work and dedication to prove that to my fellow brewers.
格蕾丝: 在我从事啤酒行业的近五年时间里，我看到了精酿啤酒行业的惊人变化，不仅包括女性，还有LGBTQ人群参与其中。当然，这个行业中仍然存在女性从业者占比过低的问题，但在促进平等和包容性方面已经取得令人可喜的进展。我希望在未来的5年时间里，女性和希望在啤酒行业工作的LGBTQ人士不会受到歧视或被束缚。
G: In the nearly five years I have worked in beer, I’ve seen an amazing change in not only the inclusion of women, but also LGBTQ people within the craft beer industry. There are for sure still issues with the underrepresentation of women within this industry, but strides have and are being taken to promote equality and inclusivity, and I hope in five more years time there will be no stigma towards, or reservations felt by women and LGBTQ people who wish to work in beer.
