We know. The weather in Beijing right now looks pretty damn grim. But don't let the rain get you down and stop you from enjoying your favourite brews!

你瞧,北京的天气现在看上去非常的糟糕。但不要让雨水冲刷走你对自酿啤酒的喜爱。

Last week our Two Birds Lager came back on tap and it’s been a popular one at our Liangmahe location since its return. We even had a German brew master tell us it’s the best Pilsener type lager currently in Beijing. Cheers to that!

上周我们的一箭双雕拉格回归酒头,自这之后,它深受酒客们的爱戴。甚至一个德国酿酒师告诉我们目前为止它是全北京最好的皮尔森啤酒。为这一切干杯!

For those who don’t know, Lager is a tricky beer for craft breweries to make due to its low fermentation temperature and required conditioning. Lager yeast, which is bottom fermenting, is not the same as ale yeast, which is top fermenting and while it can be fermented at high temperatures like ale yeasts, as is the case with Steam beers, it is best at low temperatures. This leads to a longer primary fermentation schedule, and low temperature conditioning means a lager can take lot longer than an ale before it is ready for people to moisten their throats with.

众所周知,对酿酒师来说,拉格是最棘手的一款啤酒,由于它发酵温度低和需要调节。底部发酵的拉格酵母,和艾尔酵母是不一样的。艾尔酵母是顶部发酵,并且是在一个相对较高的温度发酵。虽然拉格酵母可以在高温发酵,比如蒸汽啤酒,但它最好是在低温发酵。这导致了更长的发酵时间和熟成时间,这意味着人们等待喝到拉格的时间要比艾尔更长。

However, challenges in brewing are what make it fun and at Arrow Factory we are keen fans of Lager brewing and fermentation. The trick is keep is low, keep it slow, and wait. Which unfortunately is what customers have to do if we sell out of a fermenter and the next one isn’t ready.

然而,酿造中的挑战使它变得有趣,在箭厂啤酒,我们是拉格酿造和发酵的狂热者。诀窍就是保持低温,慢慢来,和耐心等待。不幸的是顾客们不得不面对一罐卖空,另一罐还未准备好的空窗期。

In other news, we continue our all day buy-one-get-one-free deal this Saturday. This time it’s our delicious A Whiter Shade of Pale Hefeweizen, a traditional German style wheat beer with light banana and clove aromas and a low bitterness. Available only at our Liangmahe location.

And if you’re looking for something to pair with your beer then why not try out new signature Arrow Factory Burger. 200g of Australian beef, topped with pickles, cheese, and beer-caramelized bacon mix, served on a toasted brioche bun with a side of chips.
