Last week Brewmaster Carl Setzer traveled to Australia to visit old buddy Dave Bonighton and the Mountain Goat team. The result of their reunion was a special edition collaboration brew, the Year of the Goat Rare Breed. Brewed with Iron Buddha Oolong Tea and Sichuan peppercorns, the Rare Breed will weigh in at 8.0% ABV.
Just how scarce is this Rare Breed? Adventurous fans will have to trek down to Australia to find this first-of-its-kind brew. When the Rare Breed is distributed throughout Australia, it will mark the first time that a Chinese craft brewery has invaded the Land Down Under.
The Year of the Goat Rare Breed will migrate to Beijing in February, when Mountain Goat comes north for the Beijing Invitational Craft Beer Festival. We are incredibly excited that Mountain Goat opened their brewery for such a collaboration. And now for more pictures!
